a couple of my own photobooth favorites.
soooooooo, after about a week of recovering and feeling better than before (i.e. running, jumping, sniffing and all around puppy-ness), i awoke to a huge problem on the thursday after my arthroscopy. i couldn’t bear any weight on my left hind leg! i was sick to my stomach, had the runs, was hot to the touch (fever), didn’t want to eat, and couldn’t put my leg down. my momma made me stay inside while she watched me closely for a couple hours before we took a drive to the emergency room for some peace of mind and an opinion from the vet. they discovered that i had a terrible infection in my joint. there was another surgery performed (flushing of the joint) and another night sleeping at the hospital. i was able to go back home the next day. still not using my left leg, my momma was a mess, along with myself. there were many frantic calls made to the surgeon about my progress in the days after the flushing. the doc suggested little to no activity and so far so good. it has been about 4 days since returning home and the swelling has gone down a bit and i am gradually putting weight on my leg. i have 6 weeks of antibiotics to take and a lot of resting to do. after the sutures in my left leg are removed, i will be headed to physical therapy to regain some strength and movement in my legs. please cross your fingers for me and hope for no more scares. i will give another progress report soon. lots o’ licks, slayer.
can’t wait to play ball again.
just realized that i have a week left until my surgery. my momma took me to get my 6th opinion yesterday. she was hoping that my knees had mended themselves over the last few months. but alas, same diagnosis, different day. wish me luck y’all.
hiding under the bed. i don’t wanna go see the doc again. 2nd round of x-rays today. getting everything ready for the surgery. ugh. momma says i gotta go.
every blog needs a theme song………..
this is a video from about 6 months ago. seems like only yesterday i was running, jumping and land sharking around. i still can’t get over how quickly i lost all ball catching capabilities. quite a difference, no? crossing my paws for a speedy recovery.
good night, new friends.
pictures from my time at the pasadena spca before my momma broke me outta that cage. see ya’ never again, suckas! ha.
