When I was just a wee pup of 5 weeks old, I was found in a trashcan.
Left there to be thrown away. After a day or two in the can, a nice
man picked me up and took me to the Pasadena SPCA where I was quickly
adopted by a slightly crazy, but really nice lady. I have been under
the care of my new momma for over a year and a half and have had a
really good time playing tug o’ war, fetch, keep away, and meeting new
friends during walks and time at the dog park.
I play a lot and I run hard and all of it has caught up to my little
knees. About 4 months ago, my momma took me to the veterinarian to
find out about my limping once and for all. Outcome: not so good. The
vet told her that I had torn cruciate ligaments in both knees! How
could it be? Momma took me to tons of doctors and even a long haired
man that prescribed strange herbs that tasted like cat butt. She
slowed down my runs to walks and play time to nap time. But after all
of that slowing down I still limp and can’t really keep up with my
favorite ball. I am now getting prepared for a major invasive surgery
called a TPLO. They perform the first surgery on one knee on August
10th. After 6-8 weeks, I will have the other knee fixed. My momma is
stressed about the $10,000 it’s going to cost! I am trying to be brave
but I am scared too. I am writing this to reach out to y’all for help.
